Radar Level Transmitters | For dirty, viscous, aggressive or solid or dust fluids

Radar Level Transmitters represent a sophisticated electronic system allowing the precise determination of distance, speed, shape and size.
By exploiting the propagation properties of radio waves, these devices are used in the measurement of liquids, solids in powders or pieces, paper pulp and more, inside open or closed metal tanks with transparent measuring windows, as well as on containers in plastic.

Choosing the right antenna is crucial and depends on the size of the tank:
- Parabolic antenna: suitable for low reflection products and long distances.
- Cone antenna: suitable for products with good reflection and shorter distances.
- Whip antenna: similar to the cone antenna, can be installed on smaller diameter nozzles.

The antenna's emission angle is inversely proportional to its diameter. The satellite dish, for example, is particularly suitable for tall tanks thanks to its more concentrated emission beam, making it less sensitive to internal lateral asperities of the tanks.

Radar Level Transmitters offer numerous advantages, such as adaptability to demanding pressure and temperature measurements, independence from product characteristics, as well as guaranteeing high precision and repeatability.

Another technology is Guided Wave Level Transmitters which provide direct and precise measurements, immune to external influences such as density, conductivity, temperature and process pressure.
These sensors are reliable regardless of density, turbulence and vibration, suitable for level measurement on aggressive liquids and solids at high pressures or temperatures.
Their precision is not compromised by variations in density, foam, vapor or dust in the liquids, and adhesions on the probe or on the walls of the tank do not impact the measurement.

The measurement principle is based on microwave pulses guided along a probe immersed in the process medium.
Reflection of part of the pulse energy allows precise measurement of the level and interface between two products.
This principle is ideal for liquid, pasty, food-grade, dirty, viscous and sticky fluids.
Suitable for small tanks, complex shapes and overhead installations to minimize the risk of leaks.

We arrive at high frequency sensors that effectively solve the problem of residue accumulation, guaranteeing precise and reliable level detection even in difficult conditions.
Designed for reliable limit level detection of a wide range of fluids, pasty, viscous and sticky materials.
High-frequency sensors can detect different stages of separation in materials, identifying layers such as oil on water or masking measurements such as a layer of foam.
The ability to detect contaminants in media, such as detergent residues in liquid food products, offers economic benefits early in the process.

Unlike vibrating level switches, which are known to accumulate mushy, coarse materials on vibrating forks, high-frequency sensors are insensitive to foam, adhesions, turbulent flows, suspended particles and ensure maximum thermal stability and repeatability.

Suitable for level sensing in storage tanks, containers and pipelines, they are essential in industrial processes where fast sensor response facilitates precise and reliable control of fill levels.
