Mechanical Vane Flow Switches for Liquids or Gases | Atex too

The flow switch is a two-state device (open or closed switch) used to detect a given flow rate value of a fluid. Unlike the flowmeter, the flow switch is not capable of taking any measurements: the device actually has an activation threshold value, normally distanced from the deactivation value by a suitable hysteresis, designed to limit undesired switching effects around the threshold value. A digital flow switch is used to take instantaneous flow measurements.

We have vane flow switches for air, for water and for liquids in general.

The flow switch is used in control systems, where it is useful or necessary at design level to obtain a change of state for a specific flow value, e.g. in heating systems where temperature sensors are not located close to the heating element. It prevents damage caused by an unexpected lack of circulation.

The most common flow switch models are electro-mechanical, where the mechanical element immersed in the fluid actuates an actual switch by means of a lever. In these models, the tripping threshold can be changed by varying the length of the lever arm (paddle) or the contrast spring.

The range of flow switches includes flow switches for water, flow switches for demineralised water, flow switches for aggressive liquids and flow switches for air or gas.
In addition to standard products, Riels Instruments offers solutions for use in explosion-hazardous areas, mainly found in the oil, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, such as ATEX flow switches.
ATEX flow switches, like all the instrumentation distributed by our company, are manufactured according to current regulations and the standards imposed by safety regulations.

Riels Instruments offers different types of flow switches in its catalogue, thus guaranteeing a wide choice of solutions and models, and great adaptability to every type of requirement.
